Wedding Cake Set Up

For liablility purposes, Exquiste Wedding Cakes does not allow anyone outside of our company to set up and decorate our cakes, cupcakes or treats. This includes attaching flowers to any of our cakes. Our delivery fee includes the set up cost.

Additionally, we require that if you work with us, all your cake and sweets' needs come from us. Again, this is for liablity purposes and to protect the reputation that we have worked so hard to build.

If however, there are specialty desserts that we do not offer, such as doughnuts, pies or ice cream, you may certainly work with other vendors. However, we require that our products be displayed seperately from the others.

Protecting Your Cake

To protect your cake and treats, we strongly encourage the following guidelines to be followed:

  • We strongly advise that no cakes at all, including fondant covered cakes, be ever placed in the path of direct sunlight, whether it's an in-door or out-door wedding reception. Always place the cake table away from direct sunlight. If possible, do not display your cake near any windows. Depending on the time of year and sunlight, a window area may trap heat, which can also enourage your cake to melt.
  • Because our buttercream is made using fresh butter, it will melt in heat, so, please make sure that those responsible at your reception venue keep the temperature cool enough so as not to melt the buttercream on your lovely wedding cake. This same principle also applies to chocolate covered cakes, which will also melt in temperature that is too warm.
  • Additionally, fondant covered cakes can also melt under extreme conditions on a hot summer’s day. So, if you're having an outside wedding and wedding reception, please make sure that the cake table is placed as far away from direct sun light as possible, such as under an errected tent or other appropriately shaded area.
  • It is your responsibility to make sure that the cake presentation table is of the right size, is level, stable and strong enough to hold the weight of the cake. Also, it is your responsibility to decorate the cake table before the cake is delivered and to supply your own cutting utensil for the cutting ceremony.
  • If cupcakes are to be your wedding cake of choice, it is your responsibility to make sure that you have a cupcake display stand of the right size, already set up at the right place, so that we can display the cupcakes in a timely manner. Also, make sure that table on which the cupcake display stand is placed on, is large enough to hold any extra cupcakes.
  • Always have someone availabe at the time of the wedding cake delivery, to confirm that the cake presentation table is located where it should be and for the delivery form to be signed.
  • Once the cake has been picked up or delivered and set-up, Exquisite Wedding Cakes will not be held responsible for any interference or damage to the cake.
